From Booked & Busy to Clear & Aligned: Behind the Scenes of a Business Audit

Thrive On Purpose Podcast

Have you ever looked at your calendar and thought, “How am I this busy… and still not where I want to be?”

I’ve been there too running from call to call, juggling a mile-long to-do list, and constantly feeling like I was pouring energy into my business… but never catching up.

So when one of my mastermind peers told me she was “chasing her business instead of leading it,” I knew exactly what she meant.

In today’s blog, I’m sharing the behind-the-scenes of our Business Growth Audit session and the four key shifts that helped her reclaim her time, energy, and CEO mindset. (Spoiler: They’ll help you too.)

How to spot feeling overwhelmed and start leading your business like a CEO

What’s a Business Growth Audit (and Why You Might Need One)

This isn’t just a feel-good chat. A Business Growth Audit is a focused, strategic 30-minute session where we look at what’s actually going on beneath the surface of your business.

In the audit, we:

  • Pinpoint the #1 time, energy, or revenue drain
  • Identify what’s working (that you might be overlooking)
  • Map out a next-step strategy based on your strengths, season of life, and goals

It’s like pressing pause, zooming out, and finally seeing the full picture.

You Might Relate If…

  • Your calendar is packed, but your revenue isn’t growing
  • You’re always working, but rarely feel “on top of it”
  • You’re doing everything “right”… but it’s not working
  • You’ve batched months of content, but still feel behind
  • You’re so deep in the weeds, you haven’t looked at your data in weeks

Sound familiar? You’re not alone.

The Real Shifts That Created More Space & Strategy

Shift 1: Not Every Zoom Call is an Opportunity

When we looked at her calendar, it was packed with coffee chats, podcast interviews, and casual “let’s connect” calls.

It looked like great networking but it wasn’t strategic. She was saying yes to everyone and burning out fast.

What we did instead:

  • Coffee chats became intentional, not default.
  • Strategic connections went to Zoom, others stayed in the DMs or voice notes.
  • We protected her calendar and her energy.

💬 Your time is your most valuable resource. Protect it like a CEO.

Shift 2: Batching ≠ Productivity

She proudly told me she had 8 podcast episodes recorded in advance. 👏🏾

But… she only publishes 2 per month.

All those hours spent recording could’ve been spent on lead generation, sales, or systemizing. Batching can be powerful, but it shouldn’t come at the cost of progress.

What we did instead:

  • Batch just enough for ease, not excess
  • Shift excess content time toward lead gen + conversion activities
  • Adopt this mindset: “Just because I can batch it, doesn’t mean I should.”

📌 Busy doesn’t always mean effective. Make space for what moves the needle.

Shift 3: Use What’s Working (Instead of Building from Scratch)

She was hosting a beautiful Women’s Circle that filled up every month and had glowing feedback.

But she was:

  • Planning to create a new lead magnet… while the Circle was converting like crazy!
  • Relaunching it manually each month
  • Charging too little for the transformation she delivered

What we did instead:

  • Repackaged the Circle into a monthly/annual membership
  • Added a free trial option to use it as a lead magnet
  • Raised her price to reflect the value of the experience

💡 You don’t always need something new. You need to optimize what’s already working.

Shift 4: Strategic Thinking Time is Non-Negotiable

She had no time in her week to zoom out and look at what was actually working.

So we gave her Fridays back. Now it’s her CEO Day:

  • Reviewing data: open rates, sales, downloads
  • Adjusting her strategy based on results
  • Planning from intention not reaction

And we simplified her daily to-do list:
1️⃣ One priority
2️⃣ One quick win
3️⃣ One thing that sparks joy

📌 You can’t grow what you’re not reviewing.

Your CEO Moves (Recap + Action Steps)

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, try these:

  • ✅ Audit your calendar: Are your calls strategic or just filling space?
  • ✅ Look at your content batching: Is it aligned with your capacity + goals?
  • ✅ Use what’s working: What offer, platform, or flow is already converting?
  • ✅ Book your CEO Day: Even 90 minutes a week can change your trajectory

You started your business for freedom not to recreate the same hustle you left behind.

If you’re ready to shift out of chaos and into clarity, let’s chat.
