Raise your hand if you’ve ever said, “I just need more time!” 🙋🏽♀️
You start the day with a huge to-do list, work non-stop, and by the time evening rolls around… you feel like you barely made a dent.
I hear it ALL the time—especially as a business owner, homeschooler, and mom of three. People constantly ask me,
“Rose, how do you get so much done?”
“What’s your secret? How do you run a business AND homeschool?”
And for the longest time, I didn’t think anything of it. I just did what I had to do.
But then, I started paying attention to how other people structured their days… or more accurately, how their days actually ran them.
And that’s when I realized something:
👉🏽 I don’t have more time than you. I don’t have some magical 30-hour day.
👉🏽 I don’t wake up at 5 AM to hustle harder. (I am NOT that girl. 😅)
👉🏽 I’m not perfectly organized, either. (There are days my kitchen is a disaster!)
But what I do have is a system for prioritizing the RIGHT things.
And that’s what makes all the difference.
So if you constantly feel behind, like you’re working all the time but not making real progress, this post is for you.
Today, I’ll show you:
✅ The biggest mistake keeping you stuck in overwork
✅ How to audit your time and free up 10+ hours a week
✅ A simple method to finally prioritize what matters
✅ How to structure your days like a CEO (not an overworked freelancer)
Let’s dive in.
The REAL Reason You Feel Overworked (And It’s Not Lack of Time)

I used to think that waking up earlier or multitasking better was the answer.
But the truth?
I didn’t have a time problem. I had a priority problem.
Let me share a quick story:
👉🏽 One of my clients was a full-time employee, a toddler mom, AND building her business on the side.
She was exhausted, telling me: “Rose, I’m working so hard. I’m always busy. But I feel like I’m getting nowhere.”
She had been grinding for two years and still wasn’t seeing the results she wanted.
So we audited her schedule… and here’s what we found:
🚨 70% of her time was spent on things that weren’t actually growing her business.
🚨 She was filming tons of content for Instagram but not focusing on sales.
🚨 She was tweaking her website over and over again instead of getting clients.
🚨 She was refreshing her email inbox all day, reacting instead of leading.
She was busy—but not productive.
💡 Once we shifted her focus to high-impact work and structured her time better, EVERYTHING changed.
✅ She started making MORE money while working LESS.
✅ We automated certain admin tasks that were eating up her time.
✅ She stopped wasting time on things that felt productive but weren’t moving the needle.
And that’s when I realized:
👉🏽 Most entrepreneurs don’t have a time problem. They have a priority problem.
So Let’s Do a Reality Check
Imagine someone followed you around for a full week. Literally tracking your every move.
Would they see you:
✔ Spending time on tasks that actually grow your business?
❌ Or bouncing between emails, tweaking your website for the 100th time, and scrolling Instagram (but calling it “research”)?
High achievers don’t have more time.
They just have better priorities.
So if you’re constantly overwhelmed, chances are:
🚨 You’re spending too much time on low-value tasks like admin work, emails, and tweaking things over and over again.
🚨 You’re reacting to what feels urgent instead of focusing on what actually moves your business forward.
🚨 You don’t have a clear system for structuring your day, so you “go with the flow” (aka reacting all day).
But here’s the thing: Hope is not a strategy.
Let’s fix this.
How to Audit Your Time & Take Back Control
Before you can change anything, you need to SEE where your time is actually going.
Step 1: Do a 3-Day Time Audit
For the next three days, track EVERYTHING you do in your business.
📌 Set a timer at the start of each task and write down exactly what you’re doing.
📌 If that’s too much, set a reminder every hour and quickly jot down what you just worked on.
📌 Be brutally honest. If you scrolled Instagram for 20 minutes, write it down! No judgment—just awareness.
Step 2: Categorize Your Tasks
After tracking for three days, go back and highlight each task using these four categories:
🔹 Revenue-Generating Activities (Sales, marketing, client work)
🔹 Growth Activities (Content creation, networking, systems)
🔹 Maintenance/Admin (Emails, invoicing, organizing)
🔹 Distractions (Scrolling, tweaking, over-researching)
💡 Look at your list and ask yourself:
❓ Which tasks ACTUALLY grow my business?
❓ Where am I wasting time?
❓ What can I eliminate, automate, or delegate?
Just doing this one exercise will give you so much clarity.
How to Structure Your Days Like a CEO
Now that you know where your time is going, let’s fix how you spend it.
1️⃣ Start Your Day with Revenue-Generating Activities
Before checking emails or scrolling social media, spend at least ONE hour on tasks that bring in money.
For me, that means:
✅ Pitching myself for podcast interviews
✅ Reaching out for collaborations
✅ Engaging with potential clients
📌 Your Turn: What’s one revenue-generating task you can do FIRST each day?
2️⃣ Use Power Blocks for Deep Work
Block 2–3 distraction-free hours per day where you focus ONLY on high-impact tasks.
📌 If 2–3 hours feels overwhelming, start with just ONE hour in the morning.
📌 Turn off notifications. No multitasking. Just deep, focused work.
3️⃣ Batch Similar Tasks
Instead of jumping between tasks, dedicate specific days for different work.
For example:
📌 Monday = Content creation
📌 Tuesday = Admin tasks
📌 Wednesday = Client work
This prevents constant context-switching and helps you stay productive.
