Learn about the 6 things you can do to create your best possible future!
The best way to start your week, month, quarter or year is to be intentional about it.
Being intentional means that you choose to make decisions and take action on what’s important to you. This also means that you get clear upfront about what you want and how you want to achieve it.
Read further to learn more about how you can create your best possible future.
Step 1 – Set the mood
In order to be intentional about your life you need to be in the right mindframe.
If you feel stressed or anxious it will be very hard to focus on the good things that you want in life.
Follow these steps to allow your mind and spirit to be calm, aligned and ready to create together:
- Sit down, close your eyes and take a few deep breaths in and out through your nose,
- Play soft instrumental music in the background,
- Light some scented candles, incense, essential oils or anything that you enjoy.
- Sit quietly until you feel fully calm and present.
- Being in that space of mind will get you ready to create and receive your best possible future.
Step 2 – Celebrate your wins
Before you can focus on creating your best possible future, it’s important to look back and celebrate your wins.
Use these questions to guide guide:
- What three things have gone well the previous month?
- What are you most proud of?
- What is something or someone you are grateful for?
- What made you happy and brought you joy over the last month?
Step 3 – Learn from your experiences
Think about things or moments when you felt disappointed, anxious, worried or demotivated and write down what you can learn from these situations. Know that there are no mistakes in life, only lessons.
Use these questions to guide you:
- What is something that did not go as planned?
- What could you have done better?
- What can you do better from now on?
Step 4 – Set your intentions
This is the time when you will look at your life and assess how you are doing overall. Score yourself on a scale from 1 (poor or non-existent) to 10 (thriving) in the various areas using the wheel of life.
Here are the components of the wheel of life:
- Money & Finances
- Career & Work
- Health & Fitness
- Fun & Recreation
- Family & Friends
- Romance & Love
- Personal Growth & Learning
- Spirituality
After you have scored yourself, choose and write down the 3 areas of your life that you would like to focus on improving and why.
Step 5 – Create your action plan
In this section, you will focus on creating your plan of actions that will guide you to make this intention a reality.
Use these questions to help you create your action plan:
- How will I achieve this desired result?
- What small action can I take daily to make this a reality?
- Who can I share my progress with?
- How will I motivate and celebrate myself every step of the way?
Step 6 – Create your affirmations
In this last section you will have to speak life into your intentions by creating power mantras or affirmations. These sentences are designed to keep you motivated, focussed and inspired throughout the month.
Follow these steps to help you create your affirmations:
- Choose a negative thought and write the positive opposite.
- Make your affirmations only a few words long so you can remember them.
- Start your affirmations with “I” or “My.”
- Write your affirmations in the present tense.
- Write as though you’re grateful for already having and being what you want.
- Make all your affirmations positive statements.
- Add positive emotions to your affirmations. (happy, excited, proud, etc…)
- Create affirmations that are realistic and achievable. (make it big enough to get excited and attainable)
There it is! Aren’t you excited to get started?!
